How Can I Protect My Staff Filtering Tag from Damage?

OVERVIEW
Staff Filtering Tags are designed to be worn by employees while they are working. To help prevent accidental drops and damage, SMS recommends attaching a wrist strap or similar retention strap to the tag.

Why Use a Wrist Strap?
Staff Filtering Tags can be damaged if they are dropped, knocked onto a hard surface, or handled roughly during daily use.
Avoid carrying the Staff Filtering Tag in your pocket. Sitting, bending, leaning against counters, or carrying other objects in the same pocket can place pressure on the tag and may damage its casing or internal components. A wrist strap helps keep the tag secure without exposing it to this type of pressure.
A simple wrist strap can help:
- Prevent the tag from falling to the floor.
- Reduce the risk of impact damage.
- Provide a more secure way to carry and handle the tag.
- Extend the usable life of the device.
IMPORTANT:
Do not carry the Staff Filtering Tag in a pants or back pocket. Pressure from sitting or normal movement can damage the device. Use a wrist strap whenever possible, and store the tag in a safe location when it is not in use.
Recommended Setup
Attach a wrist strap through the opening on the Staff Filtering Tag, as shown in the photos below.
When using the tag, place the strap around your wrist before handling or carrying the device.
Choosing a Wrist Strap
In general, most standard 18 mm watch bands or wrist straps should work, provided it can be securely attached to the Staff Filtering Tag and fits comfortably around the employee’s wrist.
Tip: Choose a lightweight wrist strap that fits securely through the attachment point without placing unnecessary pressure on the tag.
For example, an inexpensive 18 mm replacement watch band can be used. The goal is simply to keep the Staff Filtering Tag secured to the wrist and reduce the risk of dropping it or carrying it in a pocket where it may be damaged.

Important
The wrist strap is intended as an additional safeguard against accidental drops. Staff Filtering Tags should still be handled carefully and should not be thrown, dropped, crushed, or exposed to unnecessary impacts.
When the tag is not in use, store it in a safe location where it cannot easily fall or be damaged.
