How to Integrate StoreForce with T.M.A.S. for Traffic Sync

Overview

Integrating T.M.A.S. with StoreForce allows you to automatically send traffic data to StoreForce for workforce optimization and analysis. This guide will walk you through the steps required to set up the integration.

Prerequisites

Before starting the integration setup, ensure the following:

• You have an active StoreForce account with API access enabled.
• Your T.M.A.S. account has the necessary permissions to configure data exports.
• You have obtained the T.M.A.S. API key and your chain's Location ID from T.M.A.S. (API Key Guide).
• The locations in T.M.A.S. and StoreForce are mapped correctly (Location Management Guide, refer to the 'Editing a Location' section).

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Provide T.M.A.S. API Key and Location ID to StoreForce

Retrieve Your API Key from T.M.A.S.

• Log into your T.M.A.S. account and navigate to the API settings.
• Create and Copy the API key to provide to StoreForce.

Confirm Location ID Matching

• Ensure that the T.M.A.S. Location IDs match the StoreForce location identifiers.
• Update them if necessary using the Location Management Guide.

Send API Key and Location IDs to StoreForce

• Contact StoreForce and provide them with the API key and Location IDs.
• StoreForce will configure their API to pull traffic data from T.M.A.S. every 30 minutes.

Step 2: Set Up the Overnight Delta CSV Export

• Customers must reach out to techsupport@storetraffic.com to set up the overnight delta export.

Configure a Daily CSV Export in T.M.A.S. (Handled by StoreTraffic Support)

• StoreTraffic Support will configure the necessary settings for the overnight delta export.
  • The file must be sent to the SMS FTP server at files.smssoftware.net.
  • Ensure the file format follows StoreForce's required specifications.
  • The CSV export must include traffic data for the last 7 days.
  • This ensures that any buffered data from counters that experienced a network outage is updated correctly.

Step 3: Verify Data Transmission

Monitor API Data Transfers

• StoreForce will query the API every 30 minutes for the current day's traffic.
• Verify traffic in T.M.A.S. matches that synced to Storeforce to confirm that data is being retrieved accruately.

Validate Overnight Delta Sync

• Ensure that the CSV file is correctly transmitted to the FTP and processed by StoreForce. This would require storeforce confirmation that they are retriving the file and importing.  T.M.A.S. will only upload to the FTP and does not import directly to Storeforce.

Troubleshoot Any Issues

• If traffic data does not appear in StoreForce, verify:
  • API key and Location ID mappings.
  • FTP file transfers and format.
• If older traffic data beyond 7 days is needed, contact techsupport@storetraffic.com to request a historical data file for manual import into StoreForce.
