When the Pearl is Unable to Communicate with the Internet

If the Pearl cannot connect to the internet, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Verify the Wi-Fi Network:
      • Ensure the Pearl is connected to a 2.4GHz network, as it is not compatible with 5GHz networks.
      • If a 2.4GHz network is unavailable, create a separate one for the Pearl devices.
    2. Check Firewall Settings:
      • Confirm the Pearl’s MAC address (xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx) is whitelisted and allowed to connect to the internet
    3. Refer to this article PEARL SAAS COMMUNICATION

    Support Assistance

Once the Pearl is communicating with the internet (Light has gone off after saving the config), SMS support can proceed to add the device to your T.M.A.S. equipment inventory using its MAC address. If the issue persists after troubleshooting, please contact SMS support for further assistance.

What additional information should I provide to Support if I open a ticket?

    To speed up troubleshooting, include:

    The Pearl’s MAC address (e.g., 12:34:56:A0:0A:A0).

The store name or location (e.g., New York Soho).

The time zone where the device operates. (e.g., Eastern Standard Time)

As well as a short description of the error your getting and if the Pearl light remains on.

    Pearl Configuration F.A.Q.

Q: Why does the “Save” button show “Error” and turn grey when configuring my Pearl?

This usually indicates that the Pearl unit timed out or lost communication before the configuration could complete.
    Try the following:

Ensure the Pearl light on the main unit stays on during setup (it should remain lit for about 10 minutes).

If the light turns off sooner, the batteries may be depleted — replace them before retrying.

Reopen the configuration page and try again.

Q: Do I need to update the configuration URL ?

Yes. Due to a server address change for security reasons, the configuration URL was updated.
Always use the latest version of this guide available.

Q: What should I do if, the configuration still fails after retrying?

If the “Save” button still shows “Error” after following the above steps:

    • Confirm that the Pearl is powered (light stays on).
    • Double-check the URL to make sure it matches the current one in the guide.
    • Retry the setup using a different browser or PC if possible.
      • If the problem persists, contact Storetraffic Support with your Pearl MAC address (found on the device label).

Q: How long before I see traffic data after configuration ?

Traffic data usually begins to appear within 2 hours after configuration, during normal business hours.
