🧠 Smart Fill with Traffic Gap Filler
When traffic data is missing due to an offline counter or an unrecoverable issue, your reports—and business insights—can suffer. That’s where the Traffic Gap Filler comes in.
This smart tool is designed to help restore lost people count data by using intelligent, weighted projections based on historical and/or future traffic trends. It provides a way to estimate the missing data with logic, transparency, and flexibility.
🚧 When to Use It
Only use this tool if you’ve confirmed that the data cannot be recovered from the traffic counter itself. A warning banner in the tool reminds you of this. If the data is still being collected or may sync later, wait before using Traffic Gap Filler.
Absolutely! Here's an added section aligned with the style and structure of the existing article, referencing Data Tailoring Permissions like on the Edit Data help page:
🔐 Who Can Use Traffic Gap Filler?
Access to the Traffic Gap Filler is tied to your Data Tailoring permissions in T.M.A.S.
Users must have “Manual Data Entry” rights enabled for the location(s) they want to update. If you don’t see the Traffic Gap Filler option or can’t submit changes:
- Contact your Chain and User Manager (T.M.A.S. Administrator)
- They can update your permissions via User Access settings under Administration → Manage Users
For more details on data editing permissions, see our Edit Data Permissions article.
🚀 How It Works
The Traffic Gap Filler draws from previous or upcoming patterns to fill gaps in your traffic reports. It can forecast based on:
- 🔁 Last 4 Weeks Average
- 🔮 Next 4 Weeks Projections
- 📆 Same Day Last Year
- ⚖️ Custom Weighted Averages
You can fill one day or an extended date range—keeping your KPIs and trendlines consistent, even when the unexpected happens.

⚙️ Advanced Options
In the advanced panel, you can:
- Set custom weights for each of the last 4 weeks
- Toggle whether to use past or future weeks
- Define a specific Reference Week (optional)
- Apply a Raw Traffic Modifier (%) to adjust all values up or down
This level of control allows you to adapt the fill method to match your location’s seasonality, promotions, or special traffic patterns.
✅ Best Practices
Use this only for confirmed missing data
- Always document why you used it for auditability
- Combine with data from similar days (e.g., same weekday or last year’s date) for more accurate results
- Re-run reports after filling to ensure alignment with KPIs
