The Pearl people counter is a battery-powered, two-piece infrared door sensor that mounts on either side of a doorway and connects to your store network over WiFi. Setup, configuration, and reporting are all managed through the Storetraffic app.
Follow the steps below in order to get your Pearl counting.
Step 1 — What is in the box?
Each Pearl box contains: Main sensor, Secondary sensor, sensor mounts, 8 x AA batteries (pre-installed), Instructions card, SMS Tool, and mounting hardware. You will also need a pencil, tape measure, and your store's 2.4GHz WiFi name and password.

Step 2 — Install the Pearl sensors
Mount the Main and Secondary sensors on opposite sides of the doorway at 54" (137cm) for adult-only counting, or 24" (61cm) to also count children. Maximum entrance width is 15 feet (4.5m). Read the installation best practices article before mounting.

Step 3 — Create your account and set up your company
Download the Storetraffic app, create an account, set up your company profile, add your location, and configure business hours. Business hours determine when the Pearl counts and when it rests to save battery.

Step 4 — Add the Pearl device in the app
From your location's device list, add a new device and select Pearl. The app guides you through labelling the device, connecting to the sensor, configuring WiFi, and linking it to your account. Setup takes about 5 minutes and the Pearl warms up for up to 2 hours before its first data appears.

Step 5 — View your reports
Once the Pearl is connected and past its warm-up period, traffic data appears in the Daily and Weekly reports for the location. Reports are available in the Storetraffic app and, for T.M.A.S. subscribers, on the T.M.A.S. platform.
