Which time zone do I select for an STC device in Canada?
Time zone settings for STC U200/W200 counters in Canada after November 1, 2026: Arizona in BC, Costa Rica in AB and SK, and Bogota in MB.

After November 1, 2026, an STC device in Canada must be set to Arizona (GMT-07:00) in British Columbia, Costa Rica (GMT-06:00) in Alberta and Saskatchewan, and Bogota (GMT-05:00) in Manitoba. Do not select Pacific Time or Saskatchewan on an STC device.

Why not the province's own time zone?
On November 1, 2026, British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba stopped changing their clocks. The rest of T.M.A.S. handles that with new time zone names, but STC firmware does not recognize those names. Each province therefore uses a different zone that carries the same offset all year, so timestamps stay correct.
Notes
- Past traffic is not affected. STC counts are stored in local time, so applying the new setting does not rewrite history.
- Do not use Pacific Time or Saskatchewan on an STC device. Those settings are not handled correctly by STC firmware while the America/Winnipeg mapping issue exists.
- If a device was offline when the change was applied and then uploads counts recorded before it, those readings can appear one hour out. Tell Support and we will correct them.
- STC devices no longer receive time zone changes automatically. Each future clock change has to be requested through Support.
