This article walks you through what to expect during onboarding — from your first login to the moment your data starts driving real insights. Think of it as a guided journey, not a checklist. We’ll show you what you’ll do, what we handle behind the scenes, and how we get you to success together.
What Storetraffic Helps You Do
Storetraffic helps you understand how many people visit your location, when they visit, and how traffic changes over time.Â
Our solution combines:
- People-counting hardware (such as PEARL wireless counters or 3D Scope II AI-powered cameras)
- The T.M.A.S. analytics platform (web-based)
- A free mobile app for quick access to your daily and weekly traffic
Together, these tools turn foot traffic into insights you can use to optimize staffing, measure performance, and make smarter decisions.
Phase 1: Account Setup - Mobile App
🤳1. Download the Mobile App
Start by downloading the SMS Smart App on your mobile device:
Important Note : You’ll use the same login credentials for the mobile app and the T.M.A.S. web platform.
2. Create Your Organization & Locations
Once logged in, you’ll:
- Create your organization
- Add one or more locationsÂ

Phase 2: T.M.A.S. Activation (Behind the Scenes)
Once your account is setup, SMS will activate your T.M.A.S. access.
- T.M.A.S. is typically enabled within 2 business days of your Free App account creation.
- An email will be sent to you upon activation.
Reminder: To login to T.M.A.S., please use the same credentials as the Free App

Phase 3: Equipment & InstallationÂ
Hardware Types
Choose your hardware type from below:
PEARL
- PEARL Install Guide
- PEARL Tips for Successful Installation
- Once installed, PEARL devices will begin sending data within the next 3 hours to T.M.A.S.Â
- There is no further configuration needed.
3D Scope II
- Installation of the 3D SCOPE II (LC and HC)

Installation of the 3D SCOPE II - Outdoor
- Once installed and powered on, you must proceed to the next phase
Remote Site Study (optional) — a guided review of your entrances to ensure optimal device placement
A remote site study is free and especially helpful for:
- Multiple entrances
- Complex layouts
- First-time installations

Phase 4: Calibration - 3D Only - NOT for PEARL users
3D Scope II Only :Â
A calibration session must be scheduled with our team to configure your camera(s) for accurate counting.
During this step, we’ll confirm that:
- Your hardware is added to T.M.A.S. and reporting as expected
- This process is usually quick, though occasional delays may occur due to network connectivity or calibration requirements.

Note: Walk-tests require an on-site contact to assist during calibration.
